As many of you know, I have an unfortunate (or awesome?) fascination with nature documentaries. This led me to purchase "Planet Earth" for my parents for Christmas, and also drove me to borrow Mark's copy because I couldn't contain myself until my parents opened their copy on Christmas.

Sigh.

At any rate, in one of the episodes, they document a parasite that attacks ants (Cordyceps). Once infected, the normally productive ants stop working and start climbing whatever is close by. Once they have climbed as high as they possibly can, they hang on for dear life. Then, the parasite explodes out of their head.

There are different types of Cordyceps that specialize in different kinds of insects.

Fascinating, I know.

At any rate, I have discovered the Cordyceps that specializes in me and it is called...

Feelings.

Feelings make me depart from my normally rational and relatively productive path to embark on a clearly stupid detour, which I generally pursue with more fervor than I have applied to any endeavor in recent memory. And then my brain explodes.
