The hit counter on the blog went past 1000 today. Given that I only figured out how to put one on two weeks ago, I consider this a pretty big deal - well worth taking a break from studying to blow something up for the picture of the day. In honor of this momentous occasion, I composed a small song:
The blog counter just cleared 1,000 hitsAnyways...
Who can possibly be reading this shit?
I thought I was the only one until I installed it
The number actually frightens me a bit
People who relish my poor writing skills?
The blog provides uber-bland voyeuristic thrills...
My bad habits, poor grammar, radio dramas, the cat
You guys actually want to read about that?
Happy 1000, hope you're not getting bored
Trust me, thus number has me quite floored*
If you all promise to keep reading along
I promise I won't subject you to another song
Today was our last DLS shift, and so we had our dinner party - Spring Rolls. I decided to step it up a notch so we had it in the basement around the table, family dinner style. I also brought down speakers and plugged in the love machine** so we could have music. It was predictably dorky, but I think they have learned to expect that from me by now.
Other than that, I studied. I can't wait for a December that isn't marred with the specter of exams. Everyone says that you should try to enjoy school and that you will miss it when you are out, but I have been in school for as long as I can remember, and yes, it is a relatively responsibility-free life but I am more than ready to move on.
In other news, I have developed a weird kink in my neck, which is a bit of a problem. I am going to try to sleep it out. Stranger things have happened...
Like the normally sedentary cat losing his mind at 6am this morning and going on an absolute tear for a good 5 minutes. I have no idea what started him on it, but he basically just sprinted from my bedroom to the bathroom and back over and over and over again, making lots of noise and wiping out on things. He finally hit a piece of paper and went careening into the wall, which ended the whole escapade. I felt pretty bad for him so I went and got him and we got another hour's sleep.
Oh, and thanks to everyone for policing my internet use for me. I actually didn't check email as often as I would have otherwise because I got scolded every time I signed in. Nice to know that you care.
*I actually think this number is a result of Jeremy hitting refresh on his browser window over and over instead of writing his papers, but I am stoked anyways.
**The love machine is my computer. I wasn't really thinking when I named it, and now that is what pops up any time I connect to a network.
