Today was a little bit bizarre. I got up and studied, then at 1:30 I left for school to go to a meeting about our legal aid clinic. The meeting lasted four hours, which is a long time to sit through a "town-hall" style meeting. We followed that with a quick drink and then I rushed (as fast as the TTC would allow*) back to get to Andrea's show at the Smiling Buddha with Mark and Chris - I was so worked up from the meeting that I told Chris where we would meet him, and then I couldn't remember where (my house or College and Ossington?) Turned out it was College and Ossington but when he got there and didn't see us he went along so we caught up with him there. ANYWAYS - Andrea...
She was great. And she played the harmonica. And I finally got to meet her mom, who works with my mom. I felt all cool because I knew stories about kids from their school. We stayed there and talked to Andrea, Ben and Leslie for a while, then decided to move locations. At this point, I had given up on studying entirely.
We walked down to the Communist Daughter - not surprisingly, no seats. We continued South and ended up at Sweaty Betties - still no seats, but marginally more room. The bartender gave me a twoonie twoonie(sp?)to play the jukebox, which both was awesome and also made me feel like I was 5 and needed to be entertained somehow. I froze when I got up to make my selections though - too much pressure! I went with Le Tigre (DFA remix of Deceptacon, which I regretted when it came on), The Unicorns (Ghost Mountain), and Joy Division (She's Lost Control). I gave my other 4 credits away so I could relax.
I think tommorow night's break will be a movie.
*Both yesterday and today I have waited absolute AGES for the streetcar, and then when it finally has come, it has been packed AND has stopped before Bathurst. Frustrating.
