I am addicted to this show and it scares the shit out of me.
When I was young and it was on television for the first time, my parents were completely addicted to it as well. Not surprisingly, younger me was just a smaller, even wussier version than current me (same haircut and everything). Anyways, I was totally traumatized by the Twin Peaks cover of the television guide that used to come in the Toronto Star that pictured a girl in a tattered nightdress wandering along a highway in bare feet with the caption "Who Killed Laura Palmer?"
AUGH! I made them throw the TV Guide out. It was that frightening, it needed to not be in the house anymore. Then I probably went and listened to the Flashdance soundtrack to make myself feel better.
At any rate, ever since then I have wondered what the F that show was about. Now I know. I can't stop watching it. And I haven't gotten any tougher, either. I'm just this short of keeping the DVDs on the porch.
