bear aware

A friend of mine just moved into a new apartment and has been complaining about how he has high ceilings and lots of light but bare walls.

I suggested to him that we should make something for the walls. As placeholders, maybe, or as motivation to get something to replace them.

We got some foamcore and some paints.

When we got back, he cut out some body parts from a magazine, glued them onto one of the pieces of foamcore, had a small meltdown and declared that he was not going to be able to do it.

I felt obliged to follow through and make him something. After one false start, I decided to take the bear angle. I suddenly realized that I was doing a portrait of him, and things got a lot easier from there on in.
