Post-Exams and the Various Stages, Brought to You by the Letter "E"

I am now finished both my last ever law school exams AND (hopefully) the bar admissions exams. I finished the bar ad exams last Thursday, and immediately entered Stage 1: "Elation".

Stage 1: Elation
Stage 1 is awesome. I wish I could be the me that I am in Stage 1 all the time. I am bright, cheerful, and nearly impossible to anger or upset. I get tired but if I keep moving the tired goes away; I'm almost always famished but everything tastes better.

Figure 1. Elation

I left the solicitors exam, got elated, and drove to New York with Ben. In New York I slept very little, ate a lot, and had a really good time. We drove back overnight Sunday night, and even a painful day of professional skills class on no sleep didn't kill my good mood. This is the depth and strength of Stage 1.

Stage 1 continued for all of last week. I went out every night, and stayed out really late. I got up every morning and went to class. I did not catch up on sleep, but I also never got cranky or felt ill or any of the other bad things that happen to you when you are overtired. Stage 1 lasted past my convocation and well into Saturday, until the inevitable happened; Stage 2 hit, and it hit hard.

Stage 2: Exhaustion
After the all-night dance party we had at Liam's to celebrate Dave's birthday, and a really good day which involved the Ideal Coffee patio, way too much indian food, and playing frisbee in Trinity Bellwoods, Stage 2 showed up and it showed up HARD. I dragged myself to a birthday party and left at a respectable time, and slept straight through the night from about midnight on.

Figure 2. Exhaustion

Stage 2 persisted throughout the Father's Day Festivities today, and seems to be getting more, not less, intense.

In fact, I blame Stage 2 for the poor quality of this blog entry. You should as well.
