Let's hear it for New York

I left for New York bright and early Sunday morning such that I got to have a sweet little street side breakfast for one in the East Village, complete with mimosa, eggs benny on PORK BELLY, mounds of coffee and plenty of time to write in my journal in public. I don't know why I like writing in public so much better than writing when I am home alone. It probably has something to do with my insatiable need for attention.

I realized on my way down that this is the first trip to New York I have ever taken that is totally unrelated to any boy. The first time I came here alone I learned to drive standard in Ben's
batmobile on the way in; I came to visit Lee a bunch when he lived here, and the last two visits were with Adam.

Turns out New York is still rad. After getting a couple of hours of work done I found myself on a boat downing pitchers of Sangria; my last stop was a rooftop dance party where I left after having danced in the center of a circle of women shouting "go Canada".

Now all I have to do is make it home in time for my birthday and the week will have been pretty much perfect, and it is only Monday.

The Boat.
